New Here?

We are not a building. We are not an event. We are a family, God’s family on mission. No matter what you’ve been through or where you’ve come from, you are welcome here.
Welcome to Memorial Baptist Church of Saint George, South Carolina! We would love to have you join us for worship! Once you arrive, please let any usher know that it's your first visit! We have a free gift for you and we would love to meet you.

Sunday FAQ's

Where should I park on Sunday?

The parking lot is located directly across from the sanctuary. There are spots along either side of the building in the grass as well.

What should I wear?

The majority of our congregation dresses casually, but you are welcome to dress as you wish.

What is the music like?

Our music style is a mix of contemporary music and timeless hymns led by a talented group of musicians and vocalists. We also have a choir who leads worship weekly.

How does a normal worship gathering flow?

We begin with a song and welcome from the leadership, followed by more worship through song. Then, our pastor will share a  message before we conclude with more singing. All gatherings last about an hour and fifteen minutes.

When should I arrive?

Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the gathering time. That will give you enough time to park, check in kids, and find a seat.

Where should I go?

When you have parked, walk to the greeters at the front of the sanctuary, under the steeple. If you’d like to have someone ready to meet you on your first Sunday, feel free to contact us before hand on the contact form below.

Where do the children go during the worship gathering?

There are designated children’s ministry volunteers for birth-preschool aged children during the whole service. Please check them in at the education building before the service starts. If you have a school aged child (kindergarten- second grade) we offer Children’s Church during a portion of the worship gathering. After the worship through song the children will be dismissed from the service, with the designated adult volunteers. If it is your child’s first time, please feel free to be dismissed with them so that you can check them in for Children’s church. You can pick your child up after the service in the Education Building

What are the sermons like?

Pastor Dawjr preaches expositionally through books of the Bible. This means that he typically goes verse by verse explaining the intended meaning of Scripture with cultural and personal application points. We are currently working through the book of Mark, both in Sunday School classes and during the worship gathering.

What opportunities are there for my kids?

Kids (birth-sixth grade) are invited to Sunday school on Sunday mornings at 9AM. Kids (kindergarten- sixth grade) are invited to Kid’s Club in the Fellowship Hall every Wednesday evening 6PM-7:30PM. Show up a few minutes early to sign your child in for their first visit! Youth (Seventh grade- twelfth grade) are invited to attend Youth Group on Sunday night 6PM-7:30PM. Show up a few minutes early to sign in the first week and a chance to meet the leadership team!
